Hi, we have a family of 5 going on to six and we have a 15 year old, 9 year old, 2 year old, and another one on the way and we found a Peekaboo dog in an auction and we were wondering if it would be a do-able dog for our family???

Dear maddithayer,

it all depends on your lifestyle, and if you have what it takes to own and care for a dog. If you don’t have the time or money for a pup, I recommed that you find a pet that you, and the rest of your family is capable of taking care of. Such as a hamster, fish, rabbit, or even a cat. (but all pets need care, etc.)

If you think you are ready for a dog, you need to decide on your breed. (since different breeds need different thing, and have different personalities-though there are exception within each breed-)

Just remember that this is a 12 year (or more) commitment, and if you think you can’t handle it, don’t get one (or if you need to move, etc.)!

Did U Know that for every person there are 45 cats and dogs. Or that only 1 out 12 cats-or 1 out of 10 dogs get adopted into loving homes? I hope you make a good decision, and I wish u the best of luck.

Sincerly, Raspberries.

P.S- if u do get a dog, I reccomend a dog that is child friendly and has low sensitivity. (I assume your 2 yr old can be noisy at times)

Do the dog match test here on this site to see what breeds would fit your lifestyle. Adding a dog to the family changes the dynamic greatly and with a new child on the way – I would hesitate.

A Peekapoo is a wonderful companion dog who will spend his days perched on your lap or sitting by your side. He’s loyal and affectionate and can be quite protective of the people he loves. He can make a loving companion to any child if properly introduced to children from a young age. Check this link for more information about his dog.
