I’ve had my rescue Sasha for about a year and we’re very bonded. She’s a good dog, but pretty fearful and nervous in new situations. I’m going away for the weekend and could easily take her with me, but I don’t know which is better for her: leaving her at my home with a pet-sitter (where she’s comfortable) or taking her with me to a new place where she may be a little afraid?

If you have a great pet sitter you can trust and you’re only going to be gone a couple days it would probably be less stressful to both of you to leave her home. Think of how happy she’ll be to see you when you get back!

Go check out your local kennel unannounced. Your dogs reaction could help with your decision.
