Our puppy is still in the stage of crate training, however, she is spending more and more time outside her crate during the day and she has learned to relax. She likes sitting under the table while we are eating or lately if we were outside and it’s hot (I don’t know why she thinks under the table is cooler:). Anyway, we have conflicting feelings about letting her jump on the couch (my husband thinks it’s not OK, the kids and I think it’s OK as long as she is sitting with us). I think she just needs a soft spot to rest instead of the carpet and I was thinking it’s probably time to get her a dog bed as an alternative for her crate, which doesn’t have any bed, only a towel. This way, when she tries to get on the couch, I could direct her to her own bed. She likes her crate and goes there willingly, so I don’t think having a bed would upset her training, am I correct? She is 4 months now and has been in our family for 2 months.
