Yes, go ahead and neuter him. It’s best for the animal world, because if he somehow got out of your yard and impregnated a female, you’d have puppies. Most likely the puppies would end up in a shelter, and that’s terrible. Please neuter your dog.

You can talk to your vet about the best time to neuter your pup. It is ok to neuter after 8 weeks but some suggest the you wait until it hits puberty at about 6 months.

Puppies can be neutered any time after eight weeks of age. Some people wait until just before the dog becomes sexually mature, sometime around six months of age, depending on the breed. Please refer to this link for more information.
