My dog seems to have a bladder problem I guess you could say, she lets her bladder out whenever she gets excited and sees someone new or someone she hasn’t seen for a while. Is this some kind of medical thing? |

It doesn’t sound like your dog has a medical problem since she only releases urine when she gets excited or sees someone new or hasn’t seen in awhile. It sounds more like excited or submissive urination. when she starts to get overly excited, ignore her until she calms down, the give her a treat and praise and attention. When someone new or someone she hasn’t seen in a while, have them ignore her until she calms down, then have them greet her and give her a treat. As for the wipe butt thing it sounds like she needs her anal glands expessed. I’m surprised your vet didn’t express them when they tested her for internal parasites. You might try giving her some canned pumpkin to increase the fiber in her diet to help her express them naturally. If that doesn’t work, you can ask your groomer to do it or take her to the vet to have it done. Even though I know how to express anal glands, I take my Goldador to the vet to have it done when she starts scooting. The anal glands can get impacted and/or infected if not expressed. Your dog will do the wipe butt thing when her glands are full. |

Thanks for the helpful advice. Whenever she gets excited we have to take her outside with the new guest so she can release all she wants there where no harm is done. We’ll try that. Thanks. |

hi, The best way to describe this wee white terrier from Scotland is simply to say that he’s so full of self-esteem that he knows he’s the best thing around. Always on the lookout for a good time, he’ll make you laugh while he entertains himself. He’s friendly and happy, with a lively nature that endears him to everyone (except small rodents), especially when he cocks his head to the side and looks at you quizzically. here’s more info: hope this helps. |
