If you want a really smell free and no shedding of hair dog think about a yorkie. We’ve had Abby for 5 months now and she doesn’t shed. Their hair is like silk and the only time she smells is when she gets the idea of rolling in the grass. Which is a no, no. |

DO NOT use human shampoo for dogs! That is a no, no. human shampoo has a high ph level that can burn your baby’s skin as well as bathing her too often. the more you bathe her the more natural, and necessary oil is leaving her. this will damage her skin and her beautiful hair. i would also switch groomers because a good groomer would never advise human shampoo or to bather her that often. recomended bathig is every 1-2 months. |

Thanks, This young groomer works at Go-Pet-Go. She has yorkies herself and uses this shampoo on them. My daughter in law was told by another groomer to use it on her Yorkie also. I guess I need to talk to her about this too. Bathing every 1 to 2 months? Wow that’s a very long time in between baths! Abby started getting bathed every week when she was only about 4 weeks old and loves bath time :( |

I can tell you from personal experience-DO NOT use any human shampoo on dogs. Years ago when I was a teenager,I decided to bathe my German Shepherd with human shampoo. The poor dog had to got to the vet to clear up the skin problems I created. I haven’t made that mistake again in the 40 some years since. |

Thank you two for your input. No more human shampoo. Abby means to much to me to take chances with her health. |

I found a Hypoallergenic dog shampoo made by Hartz at WalMart. It is free of dyes and fragrances. Hartz also has a Conditioning spray for dogs that Freshens & Detangles dogs coats in between baths. With every day brushing and the freshner your dog should do fine with a bath once a month. |
