when my dog walks some times her nails make a scrachy sound but she hates getting her nails cut. she went to the vet and the vet cut her nails. but how many times a year should a pure bread golden reterver get thier nails cut a year?

Dear sadiegirl507,
this all depends on how your dog lives her life. Where she walks, etc.
I reccomend you ask your dog’s vet for more info.

if you take her to a grooming place ask if thay do nail grinding the reason si becouse it makes it less stressful on the dog in volved and it,s faster

Some dogs need a nail trim every month or so; others can go for several months without little or no trimming, usually because they do a lot of walking and running on hard surfaces.


Without trimming, nails can quickly become ingrown or long enough to make walking uncomfortable. Long nails snag easily on carpet, upholstery, and even your clothes. Snags can lead to a tear, an injury that can be bloody as well as painful.

well then if that is the sound , sounds bad right? maybe their long, and important thing I can share to you, when youre dog have long nails, it could be you or your dog can be hurt during training or activities of the dog , its better to have regular nail trimming for good grooming,
