Do you tip dog groomers? If so, what percentage? |

I’ve never seen it done, so I wouldn’t bother. |

Yes groomers are tipped – the same percentage you would tip a human hairdresser. |

Dog groomers provide a service and should be tipped according to how good their service was performed. Hairdressers, waiters, valets or anyone who provides a service should be tipped as a way to compliment their work and thank them for doing a good job. |

I groom my dogs myself but I imagine if I were to entrust them to a groomer and they took the same care I do to groom them, they would definately deserve a tip. They are providing a service just the same as anyone else you would tip so why wouldn’t they deserve one? |

I am a groomer and many (but not all) of our customers tip. If you are happy with the groom and the way you and your pet are treated—why not? Ten to twenty percent would be appreciated. Grooming is harder work than you might think. I tip my hairdresser and my manicurist because I appreciate the good job they do. |

I always tip my groomer. He is wonderful and my dog loves him. She spends most of the day there and I know that they take excellent care of her. I tip my hairdresser, so why not my groomer. After all, he is taking care of a family member. |

You should tip you groomer 100! Just kidding :) I notice that most of my clients like to tip between $2 and $5. The “big grooms” usually lead to a larger tip – between 10 and 15%. I appreciate tips. It lets me know that they appreciate my services and that I am doing a good job :) -Kendra- http://www.groomerblog.com |
