If your looking for a dog that best fits your personality and lifestyle you should try out the Dogfinder Matchup on this site: http://dogtime.com/matchup/start.

There are soooo many homeless dogs in shelters, maybe you could find a purebred or even a mixed breed in a shelter near you. On the Dog Finder page you can put in your zipcode to find rescued/sheltered dogs in your area: http://dogtime.com/finder/edit

Good luck!

It depends what you mean by best. Best what? Guard dog, watch dog, companion, family dog, social dog, trainability?

like a fun good dog.
probobly more like a companion but that still has energy to play.
not one that just sits around and does nothing.
also how well it acts at home i dont want one that will be aggressive.

BETTER LET YOUR PRESENT DOG DECIDE ON THAT ONE. CAMPATABILITY SHOULD BE TOP PRIORITY FOR A SAFE AND SANE HOUSEHOLD.

i have a jack russel terrier mix

small dogs are so stubborn and harder to house train i have been trying for 3 years with no luck. and in the past i have always had huge dogs that were no problem at all to house train like german shepard, dalmation, collie, black lab, boxer, alasken malamute, and i have also had lot of mixes that were just huge that we never had problem with training.

the other problem i have with my pepsi, my jack russle terrier mix

is that she is so loud she loves to bark alot and will wine the minute i go outside and she refuses to stop till i come back in the house. its very annoying and drives my boy friend and the neighbors nuts.

she drives the neighors so nuts that one more than one occation when she happens to get out of the house by accident some one has taken her collar off of her and called the local humane society

hoping they will pick her up and take her away already!!

who knew that saving one dog i would stuck in the house for the rest of my life unless am outside with her.

a couple of my neighbors happen to have small dogs too and they are also loud and bark and whine alot.

tonias 2 cents

please dont get a tiny dog

get a boxer they dont bite hard even when they are puppies . they are the best darn dogs i have been blessed to be around.

they are so very smart and learn easily.

they are a real blessing to have around little kids, and babies what other breed can you say that about ?

not many thats for sure !

by the way german shepherds are ok but they shed all year around.

you will not stop brushing them out and cleaning your house of hair all the time.

i am honestly looking for a german shepherd now because i plan to

teach him or her how to be a service dog for myself. i am on the heavy side and i worry that a poor boxer wouldnt be able to help get up after i fall.

i have huntington’s disease and i am going to end up falling more and more often.
