Neutering wont affect my dobie’s abilty to guard will it? its too late anyway :) but I just wanted to make sure only because dobie books dont flat out say that a neutered dog is still a great protector. Doesnt matter anyways, he is just my baby boy :) |

I don’t see any reason why neutering your dog would change any of his guarding behavior. They are bred for a purpose and most dogs have that ability reguardless of whether or not they are intact. I have an intact female and a neutered male (granted they are bassets) but my boy lets us know when ever anyone is near. The girl is hit or miss but she’s just my beautiful show girl and she is usually busy looking for some other form of trouble to get into. |
