docking their tails & getting their ears cropped

this dosnt only go to dobermans, it goes for all the dogs that get their ears cropped + tails docked.

i think this is the cruelest thing u can do to a dog.
cropping their ears pretty much cuts off 2/3 of their earr
& docking their tails cuts off 1/2 – 2/3 of their tails
all it does is make them look more “fierce” & risks ear infection + risk of infection and possibly death from the procedure. Other risks include hemorrhage, meningitis, chronic pain or loss of sensation

how do u think this isnt cruell !

i heard of cropping ears and docking tails but i never really payed attention to it and i didnt know what it meant,
till yesterday i was up all night doing research and it is cruel.

please tell me your opinions, i might get a little mad if u say it isnt cruel but i want to know what you think

&& i am a child + a really big dog lover .... even tho i was up all night researching maybe its not cruel & maybe im wrong, but i dont need someone criticizing me and telling me i have issues .

Well, recently, in the UK for example, the public has been concentrated on animals. Like the pit-bull ban, it was done in a rush to calm down the public, even though we all know the dogs arent to blame, now some places are just making laws to please the public, and recently the whole animal rights thing has sky-rocketed, so, well they make a law saying its “animal cruelty”. The video you saw, was a very bad example, it was done at home, and not by a trained vet, which is animal cruelty. It should never be done by you or a friend that says he knows what he’s doing. It should ALWAYS be done by an experienced vet. Im guessing the video was against docking and cropping, and i bet they used the worst video they could find, and it wasnt even done properly.

If you Still think cutting something off a an animal is cruel, think of it like this, When guys are born, they sometimes get circumcised, I was, I feel no pain because of it, and i have no memory whatsoever of it. And if it does hurt the dog(which im 100% sure it doesnt – when done properly), but for an argument against the tree huggers, dogs have a waaaaaayy shorter memory than humans, and if humans dont remember circumcision, why would dogs remember the docking or cropping? They obviously wouldnt, Animal-rights activists have NO argument against this except, “your cutting a puppy”, which makes it sound worse than it actually is.

Well, the docking benefits are, that the tail wont knock things over(which large dogs are known to do), and working/hunting dogs could get their tails injured.

Cropping benefits, well most dogs that were cropped were fighting or guard breeds, and it was done so the attacker/dog could grab the ears and pull them down, like handles, or get ripped off and cause serious injury to the dog, now there is no reason to do it, unless you have a protection dog, but an uncropped dobie, just doesnt look like a dobie to me.
