My Dobie has always been great around kids, though his exposure has been fairly limited. Do I need to be worried when my niece and nephew come stay with me next month? (They are 8 and 10.)

You need to watch unfamiliar kids with ANY dog, but there’s nothing about a dobie in particular that you need to be nervous about. Has your dog been around unfamiliar kids before? Was he okay? I’d say be sure you talk to the kids about going slow and not jumping all over the dog. If he’s been fine in the past he should be fine now.

Daphne you only need to worry if your dog is really protective of you and your family but if your really worried then buy a muzzel to let your dog not bite them and when he gets used to having them around, and if you really trust your dobie, then you can take off the muzzel. This is what I’ve done and it worked like a charm.
