The Chinese Shar Pei represents a wise choice because they are loving and gentle as well as alert and watchful. In other words, the Shar Pei breed is a unique mixture of friendly, personal companion and dependable guardian. Through careful, selective breeding, the Shar Pei represents an intelligent dog that needs demanding, firm training combined with lots of love. The Shar Pei will repay you with years of unconditional loyalty and companionship. Email me if your interested in talking about this breed!

To be sure, the Shar-Pei is an interesting-looking dog, and his looks alone are enough to prompt many would-be owners to choose this breed. But there’s more to the Shar-Pei than his unique appearance.

This breed is calm enough that he can live in an apartment. He’s also an independent-thinking, sometimes aloof dog. His heritage as a guardian and fighting dog make him an excellent watchdog and guard dog—so much so that he must be taught not to overreact to people and animals he doesn’t know. The Shar-Pei is an alert and independent dog. He is extremely

devoted to his family, but aloof with people he doesn’t know.

He is said to enjoy the companionship of people more than dogs,

and he likes to be with his owner all the time. A calm and confident

dog, he seems to develop an intuitive understanding of his owner or

family.

A Shar-Pei is a wonderful dog! I was 23 years old when I got my puppy and she went with me everywhere. She lived with many different people and many different apartments. She always took to each place just fine and just went with the punches;) She did love the vet! She had some issues with skin, ears, and was definitely the alpha dog in our house. She loved all people and at parties did not want to be outside with the dogs…I mean she wasn’t a dog she was a person. haha. She did not always get a long with the other dogs as well but we learned how to live with that issue. I lost her 3 years ago this month when she was 11 years old. I was so happy that the last few years of her life I was able to give her a huge backyard for playing. She loved it and was always on the picnic table standing watch. I swear she understood what I was saying to her. She was so smart. Not that my other dogs are not smart but she was a A student. Anyways do your research and know what you are getting into before getting a Shar-Pei but also know its worth every dime you have because they are a wonderful breed of dog.
