I have had my 10 week old male pom for about 2 weeks now and I’m having a really hard time potty training him. He will go potty when I take him outside on command and I will praise him a ton. I took a week off of work to focus on training him and I take him out about every hour but it seems like he still is having alot of accidents. He will even do great in his playpen for about 3 hours without any accidets. But then there is today For example he was sleeping on my husbands lap and just layed there and peed. He has never done that before even at night. What could cause this? Any tips on helping him? My other dog caught on so much faster and had hardly any accidents so I don’t know if its something I’m doing…any suggestions??

I would check with my vet and tell him about the peeing in lap episode and make sure first that there is not a health problem.

I agree with LWalker on paying a visit to the vet. This is not normal.

My motto is if you think you should take your dog to the vet, you probably should.

Always go with your instincts – better to err on the side of caution.
