I have a 4-month poodle, and I wonder why my poodle always poops six times or more a day. Is that normal and how long is it going to be like that? His poop is not solid but watery. If anybody can tell me about that, I really appreciate it. Thank you.

What kind of food are you feeding him? In general, the higher quality of the food, the smaller or less frequent stool. If you are feeding commercial food, take a look at the protein content on the package, a 4 month old puppy should be eating at least 28% protein as part of his diet. Some brands have a lot of fillers and therefor produce more stool. Our puppy is 5 months old and she is down to 3-4 poops per day. Hope this helps!

Here’s some info about Poodles which might help you.

Elegant. Proud. Clever. Poodles are impressive dogs, as the many best-in-show winners from this breed can attest. Behind the blue ribbons, impressive hairdos, and regal attitude, you’ll find an affectionate family dog with an ancient history and many talents.

The quality of dog food you feed him also makes a difference—the better the dog food, the further it will go toward nourishing your dog…

Recommended daily amount: Standards, 1.5 to 3 cups of high-quality dry food a day, divided into two meals; Miniatures, 3/4 to 1 cup; Toys, 1/4 to 1/2 cup.

But to be on the safe side, you can take her to the vet and bring sample of his poops…

You might want to try this: Twice a day serve your puppy a cup or so of brown rice, which acts as a binder. You can make it more appealing to your pup by flavoring it with a little chicken or beef broth, or mixing in a spoonful of cottage cheese or a scrambled egg.

Most cases of ordinary diarrhea clear up in a day or two. You’ll know your pup has gotten over it when he skips one of his regular pooping sessions. If the diarrhea persists, call your vet.

This pup needs a trip to the vet to check for parasites such as Giardia and Coccidia, both of which can cause these symptoms. Then after you have established that the pup is parasite free, begin to search for the perfect dog food.Consider also any sugary or rich treats being fed the pup.Don’t wait long…watery stool means the pup is being deprived of assimilating proper nutrients!http://dogsdollarssense.blogspot.com/

Better have him checked by his vet immediately. This occasion is definitely a reaction to what he eats. To find out more about feeding a puppy, please click on:
