American Kennel Club

An organization founded in the late 1800's that serves a multitude of roles in regards to the purebred dog world. The clubs objective is to advance the exhibiting, running, breeding, maintenance and study of purebred dogs. The club is active in all areas and it enforces rules in regards to purebred dog events and their regulating and governing. It also regulates the conduct of any person or persons who are interested in registering, breeding, exhibiting, running, purchasing and selling dogs. They are also responsible for preventing and punishing any fraudulent activates in connection with the aforementioned. They maintain an official studbook and gazette, both of which are published.
