Acquired Immunity

An immunity to a to a specific infectious disease obtained through one of four ways; vaccination, attack of the infectious disease, transmission of antibodies, from mother to fetus, or from an injection of antiserum. This results in the development of antibodies and results in a resistance to any future antigens.
