The dogs rescued from Michael Vick's dogfighting ring have not simply survived. They are thriving. Below are scenes from the Vicktory Dogs' new life.

AvatarI just recently adopted an 8 week old pit bull puppy. Her name is Venus and she is the most loving puppy. We also have a 2 year old rott hound mix and he loves her like she is his baby. I have always had a high respect and appreciation for pit bulls. When I heard about the Vick case, I just got sick all over. I do not understand how someone can take a living creature like that and throw them out in the line of fire to fight for their lives and watch it all happen. Then to take the oldest dog, cut it's teeth out and use it as bait. I am so happy that this shelter was able to get ahold to these dogs and start the rehabilitation process and hopefully will find them each wonderfull homes to go to. For the ones that did not have that chance, they are each in my thoughts and prayers every night.” — Chrissy, Dec 30 2008

Me_and_sadie_thumbnailI have an red nose pit that I rescued back in feb. She has scars on her nose and some bad ones on her front legs, she's also scared of just about everything. I'd like to stick the people who fight dogs into the ring against one of these dogs and see how they would feel about fighting for there lives! I'm so happy I saved my little girl, she's a spoiled dog now.” — Adam, Dec 28 2008

AvatarI also have a Pit that we absolutely love to pieces!! I cannot believe that a human being could treat these animals like they have. The scars on those pits bodies and hearts are incredible. They love their families so much deeper than the typical family dogs ever could. My pit puppy is now 1 year old and everything he does makes us happy and everything we do makes him happy, so its so hard to even imagine what the scars on these animals mean. It is amazing the way they smile and when you hug them they actually hug back. Our family would like to thank you for all that you are doing to help them feel loved and needed, they definitely deserve to live a happy life for the rest of their lives and then some.” — ShawnVanGampler, Sep 29 2008
