why are tomatoes bad for dogs some of the higher quality foods have them in there ingredient list. what about garlic I have found many products with brewers yeast and garlic to prevent fleas.

Grapes they are still trying to figure out what exactly it is. A small amount of dogs arent bothered by them, but the large amount are and have to come into the ER with us. Some thing it is the skins, but others are not sure. Its a hard thing to determine because we dont want to test it on them. White Chocolate isnt too bad as long as they dont get a large volume of it - may cause a bit of an upset stomache, but the milk chocolate that can usually get about an ounce for every pound they way and be safe. If it is dark or bakers chocolate, they need to get to the hospital ASAP. That WILL kill them.

I find it odd that an animal that has evolved to digest bone would have a problem. Even a chicken bone is digestible if cooked long enough to make it fall apart. There is even a brand of dog food that includes long-cooked chicken bones in their cans.
