“I'm looking for an agility training place for my Jack Russell rescue dog who was abused for 2+ years. Finally after 18 more months she is friendly, trusting to an extent, and would do well with agility training. I live in San Jose, Ca. Please reach me at Susinjuly@earthlink.net.”

“Hey great post I was going to put in the belgian malinois, as I we have one in our family and he is amazingly agile at just 6 months old. The breeder we got him from trains for police and military but has 12-15 at all times and doesn't have time to blog. Lmason”

“Justin, I agree with everything you said about the three breeds that play such an important role in law enforcement and the military.
I believe the author is referring to the dog sport known as "agility," where dogs run through a timed obstacle course and work closely with their owners. These owners are average people with dogs that they train to become agility dogs.
Dogs who are the best agility dogs tend to have a high motivation level, want to please their owner/handler, and have self-confidence.
More on what makes a good agility dog can be found here:

“I'm sorry, but while the lovely dogs you listed are agile, they are not the best. Of the 5 dogs you listed, NONE of them perform ANY kind of Law Enforcement or Military Duties. NONE of them have badges stating that they are a K9 Law Enforcement Officer.
Out of the 5 dogs you listed, you left out the 3 most important dogs... the German Shepherd, Belgian Shepherd Malinois and the Dutch Shepherd.
ALL 3 play critical roles in Law Enforcement and the Military.
I would LOVE to see ANY of the 5 dogs you listed run thru an Urban setting, chasing a suspect and then leaping and taking a 220lb man down who has no intention of ging to jail.
Whoever selected these dogs, needs to go back to school and educate themselves on dogs.
