“I believe raw is the right way to go. I do believe raw food has living enzymes that are fantastic for both animals and humans. Raw meat is a little scary.. but kibble is more scary to me. I mean how can cooked meat last for over a year without some kind of chemical? Even the best holistic kibble has got to have chemicals in it to preserve it. ”

“Another thing: the raw diet can be cheaper, prey-model. If you fall for the marketting of premade or add in veggies and grains that dogs dont digest anyway, yes the bill will end up costing you a lot more than you bargained for. ”

“I have been feeding raw for around a year and my dogs are in the best shape ever. I know its so hard to believe, but the improvements were beyond amazing. ”

“After researching solutions to stop my GSD from poop eating, I found the RAW diet. I am not convinced the dog has 100% stopped poop eating but she has slowed down on the constant searching for it in the grass. Now with the raw diet, the poop is less appealing and just less!
Both dogs eat a combo of chicken necks, tripe, organs and veggies (food processor) plus vitamins. After a year on this diet, both the GSD and the Golden are thriving! One thing about the RAW diet, the GSD licks both bowls for about 10 minutes after the food is gone! She didn't do that on dry kibble!

“Know Better Dog Food balances raw (and cooked) meat diets with their human-grade supplements. It's as easy as adding meat and mixing.”

“I have been feeding Prey Model raw for a little over a year and LOVE it!! They have super clean teeth, NO doggy smell (even after swimming in the river), less poo - My vet likes the results and she knows I have done my research - There are lots of pro RAW websites out there, but I think there is even more con out there - Do your reseach and I think you will find out it might be a great way to feed your dogs”

“we have been feedind our five different dogs on tinned food(wont say the brand name) and the faeces has been runny for all dogs.Changing to tripe diet with a complete dry food has changed faeces and all dogs enjoy the food. no added rubbish and its not tested on animals because it is all completly natural. ”

“Do your own research. Start with rawfed.com and read up on the myths. In terms of complete nutrition, look up raw chicken + raw chicken heart + raw chicken liver + raw egg on some site like nutritiondata.com and see how this is a balanced diet. The general rule is 80% meat, 10% digestible bone, 5% liver and 5% some other organ. A meaty chicken drumstick or a bone-in chicken breast are typical starting meals. No grinding, mixing, or cooking required. For me, the key is to only get your meat from a clean, respectable, and human quality source.”

“Quality food - dry and wet are good because they have the nutrients a dog needs. I suppose raw is okay if you are 'sure' they're getting what they need in addition. Compared to what we fed our pets 30 years ago, too much fuss is made over 'which' food today. When the almighty dollar is involved, lookout! However, I personally feel a dog's food should be changed occasionally.”

“I think there's a certain amount of sentimentalization around raw diets. Dogs have been domesticated for 15,000 years, right? I think they've evolved to eat what humans eat.”
