AvatarMike Vick has at least one of the traits as serial murders.......killing and abusing animals! I hope the public will tear him apart as he did those poor animals while fighting them! And I HOPE its at the first EAGLES GAME!!!! I could ask is the NFL so desperate for money that they allow someone who appears to be lee than human be a ROLE MODEL for our children???SHAME on them.....” — Sassie N Godiva, Aug 29 2009

100_0263_thumbnailPeople like to put labels on EVERYTHING! The Pit bulls have by far gotten the worst label of all. The media has made them out to be horrible animals and should be exterminated. My two pits are great and a welcome addition to anywhere I take them. Both are well behaved and very social. They greet new children with "Let's PLAY" and adults with a friendly sniffing. I've not have a negative feedback from anyone in years! Plus, a few years ago, I had a night time break-in at my home while my wife and I were asleep. The girls made sure that the intruder never made it but a few feet into the home and escorted him out and up the street. I know this since the back door of our home was wide open the next morning when I came down. Pandora, was missing, but when I opened the front door, there she was as she was trained to do, sit & wait. Mary made her way back inside during the night and was in her bed to stand interior guard. They are the best and smartest dogs that I've ever had and trained!” — Derrick Soo, Aug 09 2009

Snoeppeek_002x_thumbnailIt just goes to show that APBTs are as tough and resilient mentally as they are physically. How many other breeds could endure such horrid abuse and emerge as happy, normal family dogs?
For the record, Michael Vick should be dipped in bacon grease, rolled in opossum fur and thrown to some hungry mastiffs.” — Snoep's Human, Apr 22 2009

AvatarI am SO happy that these dogs were given a 2nd chance, and for those who don't know, like the 1st poster, they only had to euthanize one dog out of them all...do to behavior. That's amazing. I am so tired of this being considered a race issue, it's a DOG issue. Anyone who did the same thing, would be punished the same. GOD BLESS EVERYONE who stepped forward and helped these dogs, as well as the federal government, who gave them the initial chance. And bless these dogs too, I know and hope that they will make their breed proud. ” — lisasanti, Dec 10 2008

AvatarI'm glad pople are taking in Vicks dogs. As much as I love dogs (have 6) 4 of those are Pit mix's and 1 large Pit pedigree. I wouldn't want a pit thats been trained to fight at this time. If it was the only dog/animal I had I may. I also have 5 cats and a parrot. All rescue.

AvatarI absolutely love these dogs, my two sons each have one. My 5 yr. old grandson even considers his pit his brother. It's sad to hear that they are trying to ban them in Ohio. If it passes they will have so many hours to go in and search for these dogs and take them out of their loving home and euthenize them. How sad is this?! I found this out on Rachel Rays website under pets. You can post a comment!!! Please help! ” — sshunk, Oct 30 2008

AvatarOur family has had pit bulls for over 25 years and know the breeds capacity for loyality and love and was so pleased that these dogs were not automatically put down just because they were forced to fight. My concern is what happened to the other 62 dogs taken from the Vick rssidence.” — dianedyanamite, Oct 03 2008

AvatarUnfortunately I already have a full house, three dogs two of which are rescue dogs. I'm 75 YO and have a very limited income so can't aford to take on added expenses. However I would love to have one of these beautiful dogs. ” — imcef, Sep 20 2008
