“One of the biggest problems is that people think like humans and not like a dog. Sounds strange! But when we stop and look at things at our dogs point of view we would find less issues for we would understand them more.
Like all animal kingdom except the human race, they have visual communication that is known to each of them. Signals! Some are stressful while others are calming. Such as the curving you stated and the turn a way. Curving is out of respect for each other while turning away is saying Hey man take a Chill pill will you! ”

“reply to babygirl9---
Yelling is never necessary unless they do something absolutely forbidden like biting or running into the street...
I give my dog a "time out" and use a scolding tone telling her "sit down, I wanna have a talk with you"...She knows *exactly* what that means and apologizes accordingly.”

“The staring thing is VERY important, and I have found that MOST dogs will see it as a challenge...
When I had a paper route as a kid, on collection night when the people ware off getting their wallets, I would stare down their dogs through the storm door. (I grew up with cats so am very adept at staring contests)
Of the 30 or so dogs on my paper route all but one went ABSOUUTELY BERZERK at some point during the stare-off.
Do not stare dogs in the eye, period.”

“I think that it is ok to yell at your dog sometimes but not everytime. You might yell at them and then love them by hugging, kissing, and giving them belly rubs. You never want to abuse your dog!!”
